Spear Travels (Jetclub Ltd) is an independent travel agency established in 1983, which has 4 branches and a nationwide network of 30 Local Travel Consultants who work from home, stretching from Glasgow to the Channel Islands! We recently took over the well-respected and long-established Fordy Travel in Northallerton in North Yorkshire, which, we hope, is the first of several acquisitions. We are financially bonded by ABTA and have our own ATOL licence. We are also an appointed IATA ticketing agent for scheduled airlines worldwide. Finally, as members of the Advantage Travel Consortium (the largest in the UK), ACE and LCA (for cruises) and being an AITO Specialist Travel Agency, one of only 150 in the UK, this means we provide a huge choice and offer holidays with the smaller tour operators that are often not available on the High Street. In these days of faceless internet websites, you can still speak to a real, well travelled and knowledgeable person. In fact, with our Local Travel Consultants they will take that one step further, if you wish, and visit you in your home or office. All of our staff travel abroad on a regular basis, generally twice a year, to visit destinations, cruise ships and accommodation to bring you back that vital first hand knowledge. In the last couple of years they have travelled as far afield as Brazil, Costa Rica, Malaysia, The Maldives, Mauritius, Canada, Kenya, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Tasmania and closer to home, The Gambia, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Egypt, Morocco, Turkey and Bulgaria to name but a few. This year trips are already planned for the staff to visit India, China, Tibet, South America and the Cape Verde Islands and several cruises for starters! As you can see, we are genuinely well-travelled and can offer you unprecedented first-hand knowledge on many destinations.
